Weaving Lives craft center attracts many visitors to come in the village. Apprentices from home and abroad come to learn the artisan’s lifestyle, as well as traditional stitches. Many female architects also stay here for a longer time to research. One of them designed an efficient room for female guests with the community and built it together. Storage shelves and tables were built together with the room. Low-cost pivoted windows were designed to ensure air and sunlight.
Once the room was built, the family thought of rethinking their kitchen. So that the guest can also cook for themselves. They had the most low-cost local resources in hand- mud, bamboo from their own bamboo grove, and themselves- to build. The women artisan meticulously led the process of planning and constructing the kitchen. It was an initiative with local materials, but in a more organized way. Women kept visiting her kitchen to appreciate- “ It is indeed a beautiful kitchen!”

The woman says, “I want to design my kitchen, I have mud, bamboo, and myself to give labour. Will you design with us?”
