Rubaiya Nasrin is one of the co-founders and community architects at POCAA (Platform of Community Action and Architecture). She completed her Bachelors in Architecture from BRAC university in 2013. Since her academic life, she has been intrigued to explore ‘architecture without architects’ and this interest has sometimes led her to investigate as a researcher for unique and contextual urbanization related issues or to engage in community driven projects. As one of the co-founders of POCAA, she is co-leading an energetic team to work with low-income communities for social, spatial and environmental development through co-designing housing, community spaces, placemaking etc. She is currently the lead coordinator of the ‘Strengthening housing movement in Bangladesh’ project which aims to create partnerships with professionals, development actors, government agencies, etc. for collective housing in low-income communities and strengthen community networks for collective action.
